housing costs payment direct to landlord from first payment

Hi,

Wanted to check if anyone else had experience of this, when I am completing a new UC claim with tenants they will often ask can they get the rent paid to us direct from the beginning.  I will put a note on the journal when I’ve submitted the claim asking for rent to come to landlord direct straightaway but make the tenant aware usually the first payment will come to them.  However, we have had instances when we have received housing costs payments from the first payment and other cases where they go to the tenant.

Does anyone have experience of similar or know why housing costs would be paid straightaway to the landlord sometimes but not every time?
