New paper from the UCL Centre for Access to Justice -

The UCL Centre for Access to Justice has released a new report documenting research commissioned by The Legal Education Foundation. The publication describes the current provision of social welfare legal advice in healthcare settings across England and Wales, and is the most comprehensive mapping study of its kind to date.

The project is an initial step in developing work on a national health justice strategy, being led by Professor Dame Hazel Genn through the Centre for Access to Justice and in collaboration with The Legal Education Foundation. The work also contributes to Healthy London Partnership’s social prescribing strategy for London, which is supported by London’s NHS, London Councils, Public Health England and the Mayor of London.

The report aims to influence thinking around practical approaches to addressing access to justice and promoting the health of the public. The results highlight a diverse and innovative group of services working to deliver improvements for the patients and local populations they serve.
