Hi all –

This is just to let you know about some changes we’ll be making to the forum over the next few days.

As the roll-out of universal credit continues and we prepare for managed migration to begin next year, we’re planning to create a series of new forums in place of our single universal credit forum to better reflect and accommodate the questions and contributions being posted.

Rather than taking the forum offline for a period to do the work – which will include moving threads from the current universal credit forum to the new forums – we plan to work with the live site, so do bear with us as you see the changes happening.

Ahead of each stage of the work we’ll add an update here to let you know what’s happening, but if you have any questions or suddenly can’t find something that you’re looking for, do get in touch: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Ps – you’ll hopefully be pleased to hear that we’re also working on a brand new search module to be launched later in the year. We realise that the forum search has been more than rubbish for a while now, but think we’ve finally hit on a solution. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.

Best wishes - Shawn

Update: 17 Sept 2018 - To kick us off, we’ve renamed a couple of the existing forums, and moved them to sit under the universal credit forum ... And so, in place of the old ESA-related forum, we now have a new ‘Work capability issues and ESA’ forum, and in place of housing benefit we now have a ‘Housing costs’ forum. We’ll now begin moving related threads from the universal credit forum into the two renamed forums …

Update: 18 Sept 2018 - We’ve now created some brand new forums which we’ll begin to populate by moving threads from the current UC forum (and elsewhere): Universal credit migration, Conditionality and sanctions, Children and childcare and Residence issues

Update: 19 Sept 2018 - We’re now in the process of creating a new Income support, JSA & tax credits forum, and an Other benefit issues forum ...

Update: 20 Sept 2018 - We’ve now completed the substantive work to create the new forums and to move threads into the new forums where appropriate.  Thanks for bearing with us whilst we did it ... hopefully wasn’t too disruptive. Do let us know if you spot something that we missed or if you can’t find something that you’re looking for: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  ..... Now on to that new search module!

any chance the forum search function can be changed so we can search all at once for certain terms rather than individually?

Do you think that there should be a forum for residence / international issues? They show up all over the place which probably makes it hard to find what you need.

Hi Steven .. yes, we’re working on a brand new search module to be launched later in the year .. in the meantime however you can search all the forums using our google search .... see the link above “Search all forums with Google”
