Looks like another classic.

Client found ffw on ESA last Sept, and was told he couldn’t challenge the decision as more than two months had gone by when he asked at the Jobcentre.

On to UC- mh problems and no IT access or skills. Told he couldn’t get the rent element as he could not find his rent agreement (he has been there ten years)

UC stopped in April - client says he was was too ill to attend an appointment.

He received the attached letter - which does not address the ‘real’ reason and effectively invites him to pick a reason - work? (but no - no wages listed) sanction? (but no - no sanction listed)

He was not and is not working. No sanction decision received. Apparently no investigation of good cause for non-attendance.

Appeal rights are listed on another page - to be fair. But the letter is in all other ways a shocking disgrace.  Why should a claimant have to guess why their UC has stopped???

No income since April, rent arrears and danger of homelessness.

What a transformative benefit UC is.

It would appear to be a sanction Andrew, see numbered point 4 near the bottom. How long for or why who knows…

Well spotted, I hadn’t spotted that. Managed to blob it out a bit, over-enthusiastic redacting!

It’s still guesswork though, as you say….

And a sanction doesn’t end the claim…..and he’d got rent costs….....

Yeah, but apart from all that it’s going well! I mean he did get UC into payment in the first place.
