No new claim needed I’m glad to say. Stoppage of payments was threatened, but common sense prevailed before it was too late.
Complaint made to ICE anyway, on the grounds that DWP refusal to speak to an adviser and apparent lack of support for the claimant (until loud complaints finally took effect) caused unnecessary delay and harmed the interests of the claimant.
