Client (64) is terminally ill DS1500able but not of age to claim PC until 6/3/18. SRP date 1/10/18. Wife is not of age for either until 2020. They have claimed UC to top up SSP but what happens at 6/3/18?
Does UC start paying them the higher applicable amount automatically? Or with prompting?
Do they have to stop the UC claim and claim PC themselves?
Thanks in advance.

There is no higher rate for being PC age in UC, so will have to have to make a PC claim - luckily can still claim PC, next year when rules for mixed age couples come in he would have to wait til she also reached PC age.

Don’t forget that you can claim PC up to 4 months in advance so I would bang in the claim now and get things sorted asap.
