Client was awarded ESA in 2015, he was suicidal at the time, upon recommendation of HCP, reg 35 2 b was applied and after scoring 0 points he was placed in SG.

2 years on, upon reassessment he scored 0 points again but no except circs apply. It is at appeal stage - waiting to be listed.

Decision 18 May 17 refusing entitlement.

I have evidence from GP that supports WRAG. I am unsure if he will get the £component or not, does previous award offer transition protection as it is a change in circumstances.

The end of the £component is only for new claims after April 2017. Someone going from SG to WRAG on an ESA claim beginning before April 2017 can still be paid the WRAG component.

See Sch 2, Part 1 para 2 of the amending regs ESA & UC (Miscellaneous Amendments and Transitional and Savings Provisions) Regs 2017.
