Permitted work and ESA
Quick query, bit of confusion over this.
Can you do permitted work while you’re still in the assessment phase of Employment Support Allowance as long as you keep to the £120 pw 16 hours threshold?
I was of the belief you would need a component in payment and to have actually been assessed as being unable to work before there was an allowance for permitted work.
The wording in CPAG etc just seems to refer to being able to claim ESA while working, with no specification of needing to have a component in payment.
Thanks!
Yup you can do permitted work during the assessment period.
But the fact that your client is doing “permitted work” is likely to have an effect o the outcome of any subsequent WCA
