So I went to an appeal yesterday with a man who has an ABI (acquired brain injury) resulting in hearing loss, severe tinnitus, balance and memory issues, poor hand-eye coordination, anxiety and depression. For which he got 0 points following a home visit from a HCP!! Are you surprised??? No I hear you cry.
However yesterday at the appeal hearing - in there for an hour and some very good, sensitive questioning from the panel he was awarded 15 points for DL and 18 for mobility.
I’m extremely happy for him but what really annoys me is the whole excruciating process he’s had to go through for something he is clearly eligible for (plus the not insignificant extra cost to the taxpayer of whom I am one)

I just wanted to share this - I know there are others out there who’ve had the same experience and we will continue to do so in order for those most vulnerable members of society to have what they are entitled to.

Rant over :)
