yes, he perhaps didn’t tell them quite soon enough, but he told them, he paid back the overpayment, but still was prosecuted - happily the mags saw sense and a conditional discharge. but really! talk about a lack of common sense/waste of time and money for all (especially the court system, which isn’t exactly rolling in resources), etc…
