I identified a client who had been on ESA for some years with DLA/PIP at middle/Standard rate. She now gets UC.

She had never been made aware of SDP and so I tried my luck and wrote to ESA stating that during her time on the legacy benefit she met the criteria for SDP but was never sent a form to consider it. They awarded a backdate without any fuss.

Now given they back paid SDP to the point where UC took over, is there any scope for requesting transitional payment of SDP within UC?

I do beleive that TP is only available to managed migration claimants; i.e. those who are transferred from Legacy to UC after 2019, rather than the natural migration clients who need to claim after a change of circs.

Thanks for this. I will chance my arm on a MR, but will advise the client that its not likely to be successful. Thank you for letting me know.
