Thinking about the disclaimer many of us hand out to Clients when appealing decisions on ESA/PIP/DLA (possible loss of entitlement) I was wondering if it would be prudent to issue similar disclaimers for UC applicants.

I am only just getting to grips with UC claims (Live Service) and it occurred to me that information supplied by the Clt as part of their UC claim, whether successful or not, might be used by DWP to re-consider existing benefit claims which could potentially leave the Clt worse off!

Does anyone think that a disclaimer, for example -

‘I informed Clt that a claim for universal credit can result in the loss of entitlement to current benefit awards or a reduction in the amount of benefit payments received.’ ...might be prudent?

Or am I being over-cautious?
