So, 87% of MRs about Concentrix decisions to stops tax credits have ben upheld in claimants’ favour (that’s not counting those which will go onto to the appeal stage and be found in favour of the claimant).

Assuming an average tax credit payment of £5,000 a year (yes a rough, but informed guess), that’s about £24 million saved.  Concentrix were of course paid £75 million.  So this whole saga has not only caused misery, but ended up throwing away possibly £51million to this US based outfit.  Am I missing something about who picks up the bill for this fiasco?

How on earth HMRC came up with the fanciful idea that they could save £1billion by trawling through Tax Credit records in this way is another question.
