Compensation while on benefits

Hi
Does anyone know if compensation payment for housing disrepair claim of £1000 would affect benefits like jobseekers allowance or housing benefit?
Would they say it’s an income and stop the benefits?

If it’s one off payment, then it’s capital (not income) so normal rules on capital limits should apply i.e. up to £6,000 capital in total has no effect, between £6,000 and £16,000 tariff income, etc
