Guardian report that Oxford University research shows a direct correlation between the amount of benefit sanctions given out and the volume of people seeking assistance via foodbanks. DWP refuse to acknowledge this and blithely stick to work is the best route out of poverty schtick. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose….

Guardian reports on research by Independent Food Aid Network which shows that there are many independent food banks operating onside the Trussell Trust - so figures from the Trust represent only a partial picture of the demand.

The stupidity of this ends when DWP are brought on board with the research being done. They will have nowhere to hide if involved from the off.
