Hi,

As far as I am aware there is no linking rule within UC, as was with ESA

I ask as we have a client with LCWRA but then went abroad for more than 4 weeks, and his UC stopped

He came back and reclaimed but has been told that has to go through the WCA again

Assume there is no way around this?

I have the same situation.
Client on UC with LCWRA - goes abroad intending to return within 4 weeks but gets stuck out there as wife got covid and airline refused to carry them.
Returned to UK 12 days after the 4 weeks expired.
What is the status of the WCA whilst abroad?

In theory I think the original WCA can be used, however, there is nothing to stop UC carrying out a new one, and it seems in practice a new assessment is carried out in such cases.

Either way, the waiting period certainly applies.
