Couple claims - some questions

Hi all,

As asking here as I am sure people have more practical up to date experience of what actually happens than I do….

In the case of a couple claim, then I wondered what happens in practice with linking claims;

1. How long is a person given for their partner to make use of the linking code when they fill in their bit of the claim?

2. What do DWP do with the “claim” made by one member of a couple if other member of couple does not fill in and link within that time period?

3. In practice, where electronic forms are not completed on same day, but partner does do their bit within time DWP asked them to, when do DWP make award from- day first form completed or day second one completed?

Thanks.

Martin

You may find some of the information in this DWP video How to make a joint claim online. Sorry I can’t be more explicit.
