hi, has anyone had any cases where the disabled tenant has been turned down for an exemption on the fact the tenant and her partner are able to share a room but not a bed? Tenant is in receipt of daily living PIP
Thanks

Hi Nella

Is it UC or HB?  I have cases where UC accept that a couple can not share a bed but they can share a room and it is large enough for 2 single beds.

It may depend on the reasons as to why they can not share a bed/bedroom.

Hi, it is a UC case. This is exactly what UC are saying. The couple are maybe able to share a bedroom but not a bed. What if the claimant isn’t able to share a single bed due to their disabilities too?

Thanks

just got one of these now - client said we cannot share a bed due to sweating due to medication and he has an ankle injury and she may touch him in the night and it hurts.
UC have said it is not about sharing a bed but reasons why cannot share a bedroom.

never knew HB to be so fussy if someone got PIP
did you get anywhere with your case?
