Hopefully a simple question for someone to answer but I have found it surprisingly difficult to get an answer from my usual resources.

If a this year school leaver turns 18 and still lives with her (single) mum, does mum lose her single person discount for CT before 1/11/21? Or is this dependent on the local rules? She lives in Calderdale.

As I understand it, this is a “relevant person” who is still treated for council tax purposes as if s/he is a student (therefore ignored for discount) until 31 October.
