When completing UC50 what are the pros and cons (if any) of letting DWP inform GP of outcome of WCA?

Thanks Jon - that deals with precisely the issues that prompted the question. I remembered there were issues around DWP instructions to GPs about Fit Notes but couldn’t immediately recall the details.

On balance it appears there is no advantage in allowing DWP to inform GP of the WCA outcome but there are potential disadvantages.

Have a client who has good occupational sick pay arrangement but I assume her employer will want Fit Notes to continue resupplied so last thing we need is DWP instructing GP that they do not need to provide Fit Notes. (Recently had a client who was initially told by GP that they wouldn’t issue a Fit Note because the client was over state pension age and therefore wasn’t expected work anyway!)
