ESA claimant dies, partner

Just wanted to check that my understanding of this is correct. When an ESA claimant dies, the partner can’t continue the claim, is this correct? I advised that they could claim UC but CAB Help to Claim has told them not to but instead MR the closure of the ESA claim.

Yes the award is personal to the claimant. If the partner dies, the award continues. If the claimant dies, it ends, even if they have a partner included.
