We have noticed that the allocation of the DHP funding from April has been massivley reduced, and it seems the rationale for this is that as previous years have allocated much of the DHP fund to cover bedroom tax, ben cap that those issues should not now need the same level of DHP funding.

It seems that after 6 months the LA can request a further sum if data shows the need

Seems a crazy time to make such a cut what with the record number of UC claims and more ben cap cases etc?

......Since 2011-12, additional DHP government contribution funding has been made available to enable LAs to provide transitional support to claimants as they adjusted to the HB Welfare Reforms.

Yep, my LA has a 47% cut.  There’s a small amount of further money available in October but no clue as to how that money might be allocated.

Yes, they are certainly not giving much away!
