Claimant’s being asked to reapply for PIP rather than complete a review form

Does anyone have any idea why all of sudden, existing PIP claimants are being sent letters to call and make a new claim if they still require PIP? Previously, they would have been sent a review form? Has something changed that I’ve missed??

There is a distinction between long and short term awards. The review process (review form sent out 1 year before the award is due to expire) is primarily used for long term awards. For short term awards (which from memory are usually 2 years or less) the claimant is prompted to reclaim PIP about 12 weeks before their award is due to expire.
