In all the guidance it states £338 but if you apply the formula you get 2020’s rate as £343.85. Can anyone confirm if it has, in fact, been uprated?

As this is calculated by a formula, it doesn’t need any uprating legislation. The current rate is £343 (as it is rounded down to the nearest pound).

I haven’t seen anyone moved out of the light-touch regime when having income between £338 and £343, but I have had a case of a member of a couple with income between £541 and £549 being called in for an interview.

From April the thresholds will be £345 for a single person and £552 for a couple.
