UC risk reviews
I’ve a client who’s had his UC suspended since last October due to a “risk review”.
I’ve never heard the term before and was wondering what we know and whether there’s any guidance out there.
That’s a long time to suspend a claim. has your client had no communication from Uc advising them what is happening?
The DWP partnership manager can escalate such cases and they seem more willing to do so if there is evidence that the claim is ‘genuine’ and that there is hardship.
The full name is a Risk Review Team. It is extremely difficult to find out why the case is with them. Often suspicion of fraud or some other irregularities. They take aaaaages to investigate or respond to enquiries. I’d suggest very assertive approach from word go; JCP Partnership Manager and MP involvement to get a full picture.
Thanks all. escalated through partnerships and it started moving.
If we don’t get anything by mid week next week I suspect i will be involving one of our solicitors to do some Big Stick waving.
Good luck. They seem to be a law unto themselves.
