NS ESA - Advance claims
I probably ought to know this but…..
NS ESA can be claimed up to three months before SSP runs out. Any components (such as the LCWRA) will be included after three months regardless of when the LCW assessment was actually done
Does the three month wait for the components to be paid start at the date of the actual claim or three months after the SSP stops and the NS ESA goes into payment?
It would run from the first day of entitlement i.e. the date you are claiming from rather than the date you made the advance claim.
Like buying a cinema ticket. The film still starts at the same time whether you get your ticket in advance or at the door.
Date on which your client qualifies for ESA is treated as the date of claim. I don’t see how the relevant period could start any earlier, unless some of the normal exceptions apply (previous claims etc).
thanks both- I should have known that but (as usual) ended up over thinking it
