Hi

is anyone else having problems using the online appeal application on gov.uk this afternoon? I can get to the enter client’s postcode page and then all I get is “the request is blocked” and cannot get any further

Thanks (tearing my hair out kind of day!)

Mmmm, yes that’s the one I tried .... just tried in Chrome and fine for me there too ..

... “the request is blocked” does sound like a security issue .. have you tried on another machine/device?

We’ve got problems with the 3 online appeals I’m dealing with, one PIP and two UC. Unable to log in at all, keeps saying the postcode is invalid.

Try it on a different network.

EDIT: imagine you’re at home - try your mobile network.

I think it is a Microsoft issue. tried on Chrome and IE same result. I am currently connected to my home network. Message comes up as on a “Microsoft” page.

Not a new issue nor a Microsoft issue. Been there since day one and it’s connected to something else you input. I entered into some bizarre correspondence with them over it and finally got an answer which basically amounted to “do this cos it’s rubbish”. I’ll try and dig it out.

Just been in via webchat - agent there had exactly the same problem so has raised it as an IT issue. So there is an actual problem!

You are quite right Mike. I’ve had a similar problem before. This was, I think down to the way you enter the postcode or possibly because you don’t set up an account. Can’t remember which!

Yes, that’s ringing a bell. I had a chat with them at the time and it soon became apparent it was one of those “ooh yes I see what you mean conversations” with someone who had clearly never even looked at that page before. Still trawling my emails.

They are looking into it and I have got an incident number, which may come in handy later!
