Funeral grant misadvice

Hi All

We’ve had a couple of instances where the social fund call centre has said that a person may qualify for a funeral grant if they were in receipt of a qualifying benefit at the date of the deceased’s death rather than when they make their claim. This is likely to put some people off claiming, not good at any time but especially at the moment.
We have raised this with the local JC who say they will pass our concerns on.
Just wanted to let you all know in case your clients receive similar information.
