Hi All,

There is a bit of confusion in my office about the child element rates. Hoping you amazing lot can provide some much needed clarification….

So the client had 2 dependent children living with her (both born before 2017) and was receiving £277.08 + £231.67, and the eldest child moved out, would the remaining child be paid the highest or standard rate?

We have had conflicting answers on this. I have looked at CPAG and DRH but can’t find anything. Anyone got the answer and an information source to back this up?

Thanks in advance.

If born before 06 April 2017, the remaining child qualifies for the higher rate.
