Hi .. thought it might be worth starting a thread, ahead of the party manifestos coming out, to keep track of the various social welfare law commitments that are beginning to trickle out.

Here’s a few for starters:

- Labour Party: Labour is promising a “step-change” in women’s working rights if it wins the general election, pledging an increase in the length of statutory maternity pay from nine months to a year. (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2019-50338831)

- Green Party: The Green Party has pledged to introduce a universal basic income by 2025, which would see every adult receiving a minimum of £89 per week. (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2019-50432200)

- Plaid Cymru: Plaid Cymru has claimed it would be able to take 50,000 children out of poverty if it formed the next Welsh Government by bringing in a weekly payment to low income families of £35 for every child, and introducing free childcare for all one to three-year-olds. (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2019-50427307)

Do add stuff as you come across it .....

If they really wanted to do all this, why did they support the cuts in the first place?

maybe they forgot that you can look up their voting records, I make no comment as to how I feel in any way about any politician’s voting record

Also in Labour’s manifesto
