Does anyone have experience of how a UC claim as a jobseeker made following dismissal from employment due to acquiring a criminal conviction (in accordance with the employer’s policy) is treated regarding sanction for voluntary loss of employment/gross misconduct?

There is precedent for offending outside the workplace that leads to dismissal being considered as losing the job through misconduct: I don’t have the citation to hand but it’s in the CPAG handbook.

I imagine the limits of this would be that the offence would have to be of a nature that could both properly be described as misconduct, and be foreseen to lead to the possibility of action from an employer.
