Recent DWP outsourcing and advertising spend
Some highlights from DWP spend control data for contracts in 2018 released today include -
£394.7 million to extend existing IAS contract provided by Atos to deliver PIP assessment services over a period of 24 months and £236.4 million for Health and Disability Assessment Service (operated by Maximus)
DWP’s exceptions to spending controls: commercial October to December 2018
£37.8 million for two contracts in May 2018 [to Serco and G4S] to deliver contact centre services and £40.4 million contract to extend agreement with Atos on IT provision until DWP Single Health Operating Platform is enabled
DWP’s exceptions to spending controls: commercial April to June 2018
£5.3 million - for ongoing universal credit ‘Opening up work’ advertising campaign
DWP’s exceptions to spending controls: advertising and marketing April to June 2018
£60.7 million on two contracts to deliver current in-house contact centre services
DWP’s exceptions to spending controls: commercial January to March 2018
Love that ATOS extension. Has any IT company ever delivered ever when a contract needed to be extended to enable them to do so? I think we know the answer.
Will ATOS be paying tax on that?
DWP updates on 3 June removed several of the spend control documents for commercial contracts apparently because ‘some of the data was incorrect’.(removed docs include those that showed Atos and Maximus contracts).
Interesting quote from Capita CEO on securing two year extension of PIP assessment contracts -
These contract extensions are testament to the commitment of our healthcare team, our consistently strong operational performance, and the strength of our longstanding relationship with government.
