dual purpose assessments?

We should escape this in Scotland as Disability Assessments will soon be carried out by Social Security Scotland.

For “simplify”, I think you mean “bring about further reductions in financial support for disabled people but make the private contractors very rich in the process” Dan?

Client has contacted me. She was maintained in Support Group for ESA in February 2019, without face to face but with loads of supporting evidence. Her current award of PIP (Enhanced rates on both) was due to be reviewed in 2020, but, out of nowhere, she’s received a letter from PIP giving her both components at enhanced rates as an “ongoing award”.
Client wonders if the evidence submitted for her ESA has influenced this (i.e. a “dual purpose assessment).
I must say I’d not realised that the announcement last summer about the introduction of the “ongoing award” for PIP would mean that we didn’t have to complete another PIP2 before such new decisions are made.
However, whichever exercise is being undertaken and whatever vehicle the DWP have used to make this decision, on this occasion my client is tremendously relieved!
And, with the regular reservations, it’s lovely to share some good news

indeed
i should imagine in some cases it will favour claimants, and in others not.
probably those with long term well documents issues will be fine or better
those who, perhaps, have been on PIP but working may not be….
