UC Non Dep Auto Calc not working
UC claimant in receipt of enhanced rate DL to PIP with non dependants, in accordance with the regs there should not be a non dep deduction.
However UC is applying a monthly non dep deduction and when questioned I was told that the auto calc does not work. So the clmt has to beg each month for a manual payment. This has been going on since April 2018.
“8 Aug 2018 at 9:34am -I have found a resolution after communicating with Catherine - the auto calc system is not
taking the legislation into account properly and this will be fixed in the long term via software updates - in the mean
time I will retro calculate the correct award and issue the difference to you and in future, when an auto calc shows
for yourself, I will reject it if possible and manually calculate your award ( hopefully by doing this I will be able to
override the faulty part of the soft ware.)”
Has anyone come across this scenario many claimants might be losing out?
Yes, ask the work coach to pin the info. about this to the top of the journal. It should then be in their faces.
