Credits-only ESA claim

Feel like I should know this but not 100% so thought best to check.

Clients wants to claim credits-only ESA to protect State Pension entitlement, husband claiming PC and CA for her, she has ER both elements of PIP, so should easily be able to show LCW.

She won’t satisfy the NI contribution conditions for ESA as hasn’t worked for ages, so does she simply complete ESA claim form and lob it in, asking for it to be treated as credits-only ESA claim?

Thanks.

The DWP actually refer to the above scenario in this link, which was a surprise!

‘If you get new style ESA you will get Class 1 National Insurance credits. In some circumstances you may only get these credits and no money – this is known as a “credits only” claim’.

Anyone know why the quoted paragraph appears to have been taken off the page linked to (It’s still on the JSA page)?
