zambrano carers
thought you all might be interested in this, just out on bailii today…. claimant moroccan, but a zambrano carer and HMRC/DWP tried to stop her getting CTC and CB; she won at first tier tribunal and again at UT. There’s a treaty .....with morocco (and according to the judge something similar for other countries…)
Rightsnet ahead of the game ;)
I liked this - well spotted someone at Hounslow CAB.
Very interesting. Thanks for highlighting.
So for future reference, as Judge Ward is “aware of them in respect of Algeria, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Tunisia but this list should not be assumed to be comprehensive”, is anyone aware of any agreements with any other states not named?
There’s a list here http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20060715175954/http://www.dwp.gov.uk/lifeevent/benefits/social_security_agreements.asp
That does not include Morocco…
gov.uk has a shorter list https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/431137/reciprocal-agreement.pdf
And KPMG says that there are some pre-existing Social Security agreements with EEA countries that proceeded UK entry into the EU https://home.kpmg.com/xx/en/home/insights/2017/04/flash-alert-2017-065.html
... and from the European Commission - current Euro-Mediterranean partnership agreements with -
Algeria , Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey
... the Commission also provides a full list of all association agreements currently in place.
