Hi all -

Can you help with this piece of work being carried out by Social Finance?

Background

Social Finance is a non-profit which works with government and the financial and social sectors to develop sustainable solutions to social issues. As part of its work, Social Finance has established an Impact Incubator in partnership with major UK grant-making trusts and foundations such as the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, Big Lottery and Paul Hamlyn Foundation. They work on issues that are chosen by these foundations and partner across sectors to re-imagine how each issue could be addressed. Since the Impact Incubator began in 2014, they have raised more than £9m in funding (from local and central government and charitable foundations), the vast majority of which has gone to charity partners delivering the new models of change.

How you can help

Social Finance is currently entering a development phase on a project which is looking to address the issue of access to legal advice and representation with a focus on welfare benefits advice.

Their research has flagged the significant gap that has been left as a result of LASPO, as well as wider cuts within benefits which are resulting in growing pressure on the advice sector and, as they continue to refine their ideas and develop a potential model for change, they are keen to seek information from frontline advisers in order to better understand the advice landscape and the needs of people accessing this advice.

If you have time, Social Finance have put together a short survey to gather your views. It should take no more than 10 minutes and your answers will be treated as confidential.

The survey will be available until Friday 24 August 2018.

Many thanks.
