Hi everyone.
any tips on completing a PIP form for someone newly diagnosed with M.S.
Consultant confirmed diagnosis but there is a waiting list for the MS nurse, so not sure if any information can be provided.
Maybe progressive MS but has to be monitored for definite diagnosis.
I have read on the MS website that quite a few of people with MS are being refused any award of PIP.
any tips greatly received.
thanks
Anita
As to completing the PIP form it is vital to look at the questions that are being asked and the difficulty that is experienced in each of them. Repeatability and reliability are 2 key words that will have a significant effect. As regards the help that is needed, who provides it and why. Benefits and work have a comprehensive guide to completing the PIP form. Multiple Sclerosis is such a variable condition no two people will experience the same symptoms. Citizens advice may be able to help and the MS society works with individuals who suffer from this disease, they also publish a guide to completing the claim form.
A bit late, I’m afraid, but perhaps useful for future reference…
There’s a good website created by a young woman with MS, Dr Melanie Hopper (her PhD is in quantum physics(!) - she’s not a medic). She deals with various aspects of the condition, including PIP applications and appeals.
many thanks for the link. Any information greatly received.
