Universal Jobmatch will be replaced by the Find a job service on 14 May 2018.

Important: If you have an existing Universal Jobmatch account it will not move to the new service.

Save any information you want to keep, like your CV, cover letters and application history by 17 June 2018.

Adzuna is delighted to announce it has been awarded the contract to replace the UK government’s job search platform, Universal Jobmatch ...

The service will offer a fast, simple experience and powerful search using Adzuna’s technology, matching jobseekers to employers’ available roles quickly and effectively. The new service will be rolled out across the country this summer.
A Simpler, More Modern Way of Jobseeking

The tool will continue to provide jobseekers with the ability to search for work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Jobseekers will be able to create an account to which they can upload CVs, create relevant email alerts and view their previous account activity. Changes to the user registration process will see a simpler, more modern way of accessing and managing job seeker accounts. The free job posting process for employers will also be streamlined.

Just trying out some of the ‘popular searches’ on the new Find a job site .... and getting some rogue results ...

For example, these current matches for cleaning jobs include results for Consultant Dermatologists:

https://findajob.dwp.gov.uk/search?adv=1&loc=86383&p=2&sb=salary&sd=down&qor=Cleaner

... and these for driving jobs, include lots of adverts for General Practitioners:

https://findajob.dwp.gov.uk/search?adv=1&loc=86383&p=2&sb=salary&sd=down&qor=Driver

Plus, if you search for retail jobs (https://findajob.dwp.gov.uk/search?adv=1&cat=22&loc=86383&pp=10), the top result at the moment is for a Bleep Holder Nurse.

Looks like, for the cleaning jobs, it might be because the dermatologist opportunity has facilities which are ‘clean, bright and modern’’ ... and the GP role involves provision of ‘a driver, comprehensive operational support and all the equipment you’ll need.’

I’ll bet you can’t find an ad for ESA call handler!

Loads of call handler jobs; a disturbing amount of NHS roles right up to salaried GP (!) and beyond. Obviously I know loads of GPs on JSA!
