Is anyone able to confirm that the address on http://www.gov.uk for tax credit complaints is correct please:

HM Revenue and Customs
Tax Credit Office
BX9 1ER
United Kingdom

I sent a complaint to that address on 13 December 2017 but it has been returned to me with the above address through the window envelope crossed through with biro but no indication why it has been returned.

Many thanks

It’s a while since I’ve had to do a complaint but I always contacted the Tax Credit Office at Preston.  It looks as if things have changed.  This gives the address you’ve got (which another website says is a central point from which post is either forwarded to the relevant office or scanned & sent electronically):

https://revenuebenefits.org.uk/tax-credits/guidance/how-to-deal-with-hmrc/making-a-complaint/hmrc-complaints/

Note that you can start off the complaint (Tier 1) by contacting the office which has been dealing with the case.

Some addresses have changed lately - we run the Revenuebenefits website so I can double check with HMRC to make sure that one hasn’t changed as well.

Does your employer use a courier rather than Royal Mail to send out post? if so, they won’t be able to deliver to that address:

Thanks seand,

that could be the problem as we do use a courier service for our post. Thanks for the info

I checked with HMRC and they have confirmed the same about the courier. We will update Rev Ben accordingly!
