Oh I’m very sorry to hear that -Jane was a regular at NAWRA meetings and always contributed loads. Have you got a link for that obituary Robbie - I’ll also arrange for a message to go out to the NAWRA membership. That’s very sad news :(

Really sad news.  Jane was a dedicated welfare rights officer and a long time member of NAWRA.  I spent a lot of time with Jane over the years and always had lively discussions and debates.  She was very vocal in her support of claimant rights and will be a great loss to the advice sector.

As Marx famously said “The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways.  The point is to change it.”  Jane was one of the people who worked tirelessly to make that change.  RIP.

Very sad news.  It was alway a pleasure to see Jane and to talk to her.

I’m very proud to be able to say that Jane was my cousin. She was a dedicated welfare rights officer whose fearless and tenacious defence of the rights of those she represented was an inspiration to me and, I think I can safely say, to anyone who had the benefit of spending even a short time in her company. The contribution she made in the cause of public service was simply immense.

There was a terrific turn out of her former colleagues from Rotherham Council at her funeral and their presence and company was hugely appreciated by all the family.
