Apologies for what might be obvious questions: not our usual client group
Client on IS was told at WFI that she ‘can’t sit on benefit’ and needs to find a nursery place for daughter. She has a third WFI over a 4 week period on Friday and she has been told that she needs to take in proof as to what she has done to find work. They are also putting pressure on her to claim UC rather than IS.
Am I right that:
There is no limit on the number and frequency of the WFIs she can be mandated to attend
That she does not have to show that she is taking any steps to look for work (she doesn’t want the child to go into a nursery)Thanks in advance

That’s how I understand it yep - although there is a requirement to discuss and assist in the completion of an ‘action plan’ including steps that would be reasonable to take, there is not a requirement to actually take the steps agreed in the action plan.
