It Friday so new competition ........

Recently opened ATOS venue for PIP face to face assessments. In a small rural village. Public transport on a weekday limited.

Client with severe MH, lives in Oxford, given appointment on a Sunday. There are no buses on a Sunday to this village. There is a train station 2/3 mile away - number of trains on a Sunday = 2.

Client fails to attend. DWP refuse to accept good cause for not attending!

Oh and there is a venue in Oxford within walking distance of clients home!

Beat that!

PIP assessment appointment….......... 9am in Dunfermline   that’s 40 miles.
client doesn’t drive and has no local support, client would need to leave the house at 5:50am to make the appointment.

I managed to catch it and get it changed but its a total joke…

Client lives in Salford. Was asked to go to Liverpool. Didn’t think they had an option so did so. Roughly 32 miles but by public transport, and counting the journey to/from the railway station it takes about 2 hours.

Client lives in Salford. Was asked to go to Sheffield. Didn’t think they had an option so did so. Roughly 50 miles but by public transport it’s an absolute minimum of 2 hours counting the journey to/from the railway station. Clt. with huge mobility issues got up at 6am to get there for a 9:30 appointment.

northern powerhouse, HS3 - at least your clients had public transport to get to their (distant) venue - my client tried to hitch - its cushy ‘up north’!

HS3? Not seen 2 yet :)

Hitching presumably lost them points!

First client needed a 10 minute walk, 2 buses and another 10 minute walk just to get to Piccadilly station. She then needed another 10 to get to platform 14 which is the farthest extreme of the station. Then she had to stand all the way (quite a common thing with Manchester to Liverpool trains). On arrival in Liverpool she then needed a taxi from and/to the station. ATOS refused to help her get one. Suffice to say her main issues was around mobility.

Client lives in Mansfield, asked to go to Peterborough for assessment, 75 miles by car. On the day of the assessment was breathless, light headed and experiencing dizziness, called to explain unable to drive. Failed to attend without good cause…
