DWP is 100 years old today
Some great archive pictures in this:

It says in amongst the self-congratulatory bumf, that DWP believe they are “serving” customers!
Where on earth did they get that idea?
Noticeable theme of far too much office space per person and the lack of actual claimants in the public spaces!
The DWP appear to have its facts wrong!
May have escaped their attention but it only came into existance on 8/6/2001.
Oh, and they can’t count. Arguably the social security system as we know it came into existance in 1908 when the first state Retirement Pension was introduced. I make that 108 years.
Why let facts get in the way of a good story (or decision).

1: Old-Age Pensions Act 1908?
2: A rose by any other name would smell as sweet?
Anyone been waiting for a ringback since 1917?
