Please advice, as I’m getting confused.  When UC comes in, if a mixed aged couple are already receiving PC and move home, will they them have to claim UC until both partners are PCqa. Is this yet another point to consider as many pensioners want to move when they retire?

I don’t believe so.  Once someone is on PC the will remain on it, even if they have a younger partner, when UC is introduced.  Any change of circumstance will cause a PC adjustment.

However, what would happen if they are in a more complex situation is unclear.

For example

1) A mixed-age couple receive UC.
2) They separate, create different households in the same dwelling.
3) Person A claims UC as a single working age person
4) Person B claims PC as a single older person
5) They reconcile
6) ???
