Appointee and PC

Afternoon,

Has anybody come across the issue of an appointee needing to be re-appointed when the person who they are acting for turns State Pension age?

We’ve heard of a person being told that they needed to be re-appointed before they claimed PC.

But it may also be the case that this has coincided with the DWP reviewing the person’s role as an appointee.

Thanks

I’ve never come across this and we have a large Deputyship team dealing with clients for whom the council is corporate appointee. Not had any issues with switch over to state pension or Pension Credit. I think it’s a lot more likely to be about the review of the current appointee - has there been a suggestion they are not appropriate?

Thanks Rosie, thats useful. It was more of a hearsay comment to be honest that had very little detail.
