smi waiting period
Is it the case that if my client has been getting esa/jsa prior to her claim for UC, the time on esa/jsa count towards the waiting period for smi, I.E. can the waiting period be reduced due to time spent on esa/jsa ???
Yes. As long as she was entitled to ESA/JSA within the month prior to the UC claim. See Reg 21(4)-(5) of the Loans for Mortgage Interest Regulations 2017.
