Hello

A couple of questions to anyone in the know on Scottish Social Security.

1.  The proposed start date for new claims of CDP across the whole of Scotland is 22nd November, is this still on track?
2.  Independent Advocacy Support   - at present there is an interim provider, with VoiceAbility providing the serice thereafter.  I cant find anything on gov.scot about how people will access this service, or the mechanics of how it will work.  Is there info out there I just can’t find?

A question for the Rightsnet Bigwigs:  Do you have any plans for a Scotland specific section of the Forum?

Cheers

Eddy

Yes, new claims will start on 22nd Nov. The DLA to CDP transfer process has already started.

No further information on the Advocacy Service other than VoiceAbility will continue meantime.

Awaiting a reply from SSS on how to access the service other than https://www.voiceability.org/about-us/contact-us

Hi

Social Security Scotland have produced this brief factsheet - https://www.socialsecurity.gov.scot/asset-storage/production/downloads/Independent-Advocacy-Service-factsheet.pdf

It says that you access the advocacy service bu phoning Social Security Scotland on 0800 182 2222
and asking to be referred to the Independent Advocacy Service. Apparently the Advocacy Service then contacts you within 5 working days.
