FOI response says tax credits claimant with more than £16K capital can be manage migrated to UC with TP

Answering a question about whether tax credit claimants with more than £16,000 capital will be able to move to UC with full transitional protection under managed migration the FOI response says -

Between July 2019 and March 2022, when we migrate claimants from existing benefits over to Universal Credit, they will be considered for transition protection, no matter their level of capital.

“considered for” being, of course, not the same as “will get” transitional protection, so i would think by then the answer will be no…

Yes, couldn’t agree more Claire. The weasel words here are never ending…..

What’s particularly galling in this instance is that the originall enquiry is beautifully concise and to the point and simply asks about “receive” if not other change of circs. They haven’t confirmed that, therefore it won’t happen, after they’ve “considered” it.

Not necessary in my humble.

We all know that a change of circs will be “generated”, thus denying TP anyway
