Religious Orders
Wed 17-Dec-08 08:58 AM

The rules say that someone living in a religious order cannot claim PC unless they 'are too frail or elderly to particapte fully in the orders acivities'.
Does anyone have any experience of this ? A fuller definition ? Would being in receipt of Attendance Allowance meet that requirement ?
Thanks
Angela

6(2)(b) of The State Pension Credit Regulations 2002 states that members of religious orders who are fully maintained by their order shall have a standard minimum guarantee amount of nil.

Regs found here: http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2002/20021792.htm

There is also an interesting news article on this very issue, found here
